Who We Are
The future is no longer solely about open banking or open finance, it is about smart data. As the market has evolved, the Smart Data & Technology Alliance (SDATA) seeks to provide both current and forward intelligence, while advocating for frameworks and initiatives that aid open data engagement across Europe.
SDATA was born from our experience in helping deliver open banking developments across various jurisdictions under the Financial Data & Technology Association (FDATA). Our team has actively worked in data schemes and working groups, served on advisory boards, contributed to various industry reports, and been panelists in Open Finance summits across the world alongside key industry players such as the Centre for Finance, Innovation, and Technology (CFIT), the Financial Conduct Authority, Open Banking Expo, Moneyhub, and more.
By adapting to current market needs, SDATA is committed to facilitating access to non-financial data in order to enhance a company’s own offerings, as well as to bring new value propositions to market. While SDATA will still be involved in open banking delivery developments, we are here to increase smart data opportunities across projects, individuals, and companies in Europe.
What We Do
We provide advisory services on the wide array of market activities to active participants within the smart data ecosystem. Whether you are curious about exploring how to get involved in the ecosystem or expanding your data potential, we are here to help guide you through the legislation and tools.
Our case-by-case, advisory first approach allows SDATA to provide a more market-appropriate, bespoke consultative model for individual members, benefiting product roadmaps and other commercial interests, such as specific research, horizon scanning, and partnership identification.
-
We work to identify what consultative opportunities could be worth exploring. Whether it is a specific project or product to be brought to market, i..e. product roadmaps, or specific challenges within the market where we can advise how to navigate the regulatory framework.
We go beyond what a traditional advocacy organisation can offer due to our role as a proxy within the ecosystem. Being in the room allows us to fully understand the wide array of market activities at your disposal, and provide insights and opportunities within various initiatives.
-
We create consultative plans case-by-case, client-by-client. This means regular communication where we discuss the various activities, fora, and initiatives SDATA is engaged in that are then distilled into what is relevant for that particular company.
The creation of a bespoke consultative plan allows us to obtain a deeper understanding of what each company needs and wants in terms of data access, data sets, partnerships, potential scheme participation, and possible pilot participation.
